Yes, 7 Oaks is clear! While there is still some more maintenance to do, people have been riding and hiking it the entire distance.

I am available for this Saturday (10/23) if you have a crew out on the trail (Seven Oaks). I am an experienced SGWA trail crew member. Let me know time and place.
Thanks!

Hi
I was reading about your rehab of the 7 oaks trail and thought you would like to know something about my experience with it.
Back when I was in High School, a friend and I rode down that trail on our horses. We came up to Skyline Drive from the trail that starts at Aspen Glenn and as we were standing there looking out across the mountains, I could see what looked like the remnants of a trail going around the slope in front of us. The top part of the trail where it joined onto Skyline Drive was gone in a slide, but we picked our way down to what we could see and rode down to where it joined onto the Radford Truck Trail.
The trail was very overgrown and obviously had not been used in some time. It was steep, eroded, and hairy in spots! When we got to the bottom, my friend thought she knew the way to the Hart Bar Trail and we thought we would go back that way, a bad decision, ended up back tracking and goin the wrong way in the dark and ended up at 7 Oaks. I had to call my family to come get me.
I graduated from high school in 1979 and I think I was a sophomore or a junior at the time. Obviously this trail is older than 30 years. When I got home, I saw it was still on the forestry maps and labeled as part of the trail that came up from Aspen Glenn.
Thought you might be interested to know that!

Hi Phil;

I rode the Seven Oaks trail today and it's looking pretty good. The bottom mile or so is fast, flowy and smooth. The top 2/3 seems to be feeling the affects of a couple motorcycles that worked it over pretty harshly in spots. Yikes. Looking over the work schedule on the website, nothing has happened on this great project since the middle of August and I can find no plans for future work. When are more work days scheduled so we can come out and help?

Additionally, we sent in our membership form several weeks ago and wanted make certain it was received. If so, I have a wife here handkering for her fancy t-shirt.

Thanks...
