Tour of California Returns to Big Bear Lake

Big Bear Lake has been selected as the race’s Stage 6 Finish on Friday, May 18, 2012. The City of Palmdale will serve as the Host City and start location for Stage 6, which ultimately finishes with a demanding climb to Big Bear. This is the second time in three years Big Bear Lake has been selected as a Host City, which reaffirms the mountain resort as a world-class road cycling destination. Big Bear Community Bike Rides

On Saturday, May 1, over 40 local Big Bear cyclists braved 40 degree weather to participate in the first Community Bike Ride. Riders ranged from 7 to 74 years old and enjoyed a slow and easy course along the Eagle Point bicycle route in the City of Big Bear Lake. Even the City’s Mayor, Liz Harris, joined in the fun.
Two more rides are scheduled for the following Saturdays on May 8th and May 15. Riders of ALL levels are encouraged to participate. Rides begin at 10am at the Snow Summit …
